I think that people should sell barbeque kebabs for free!

Image result for night marketOn Friday 17th of May, my family and I went to Papatoetoe to go shopping at the night market. First of all, we got dressed up into our winter outfits because it was very cold outside. Next, we all ran as fast as cheetahs to our little black car because it was raining.

On our way to Papatoetoe, my siblings and I played a game called, "Exploration lite!" We decided that we should build a perfect house on our samsung i-pads. My house was made out of glass, my sister made a hotel and my brother made a school out of cobblestones. The winner was my brother because it was very big and it had the right amount of classrooms.

When we got to Papatoetoe, my dad parked our car near the night market. We were all excited! I asked my parents if I could have a barbeque kebab and my parents said, "Yes!" When I ate my kebab it tasted like curry. My kebab was the best food I ever ate on that night.

Later on, we bought Samoan food. We bought sapasui, taro, potato salad and chicken. Then we went back to the car because it was nearly 10 o'clock. We drove home safely.

My favourite part of the day was when my siblings and I played, "Exploration lite!"

Creating a new recyclable insect is very hard work!

On Thursday 16th of may, Room 7 had our 7th art lesson with Salome and Siliga.  First we were put into 3 different groups of insects. There was the crawling insects, the flying and lastly the birds. My insect was a butterfly so I went to the flying insect section.

First of all, Salome told us to look at our paper and find the recycled materials that we need to create our insect. I decided that I would use a bottle for my butterfly's body. I used a big piece of cardboard to create my wings. I used a green marker and designed the four wings for my sculpture. Then I cut out my butterfly's wings with a yellow pair of scissors.

I went to Silinga and asked him if he could glue my wings onto the body. After that, Salome said, "We only have 2 more minutes!" We only had a minute to clean up. Lastly we said, "Thank you Salome and Silinga for helping us with our sculpture!" My favourite part of the day was when I used a green marker first to draw the wings because I made sure that I cut out the wings using the lines that I have drawn so that my wings would be the perfect size.
Learning intention: We are learning to write a recount using the correct structure.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I record my recount of our 7th art lesson using Blabberize.

I can't stop dancing!

Image result for Disco ballAfter school on Friday,  my family and I went to my mum's work to help them fundraise money so they could buy new books and new shelves for the pre-schoolers to place their bags in when the are at school. My mum decided that we could have a disco ball. The teachers liked the idea so my mum and I went to the shops to buy decorations. We bought colourful stripes, plastic cups and plates, glow in the dark bracelets, wrapping paper, and some prizes for the guests and children.

We came back to the school and set up a table for the priest, his wife and my dad. I put a white cloth on top of the table and my mum helped me. After that, one of the teachers called Lana wrapped up  3 bottles of wine to be awarded to the best dressed mum, dad and for the person who gets a lot of money during the dancing. She also wrapped up the kids prizes for best in dancing.

In the kitchen, I helped my mum to cook some food for supper. I had to add some herbs onto the chicken and placed the cooked chicken onto  plastic plates. While I was placing chicken onto the plates, my mum had made a delicious potato salad and my mum's friend cooked some noodles. When people arrived, I washed my hands and went up the stairs to the school so that the priest could pray. Then my dad called out the little kids to dance their best, while I passed around lollies to the little kids who were dancing. I saw some very interesting dance moves from two little girls named Ashleigh and her cousin Immy.

Later on, my dad announced the best dressed mum and best dressed dad. They were called Moe and Daniel. Then, my dad chose Immy for the best dancer because she got the most amount of money.

Lastly we had one last song of the running man challenge. The little kids, brother, sister, friends and I danced so hard that we could not stop dancing.
My favourite part of the night was when I went around to give some lollies to two girls because I liked how they danced to the music and used actions that people do not know.

Learning intention: We are learning to follow the structure of a recount.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I start with the introduction, followed by the events, and then the conclusion of my family and I going to the disco ball.
