Manaikalani Schools Meet the Waka
I'm excited! The schools welcome the Waka from Hawaii.
When we got to Point England beach a boy blew a big long Maori horn to welcome them. After that we stood up to performed a haka to them.
Then we sang a Maori song and did the haka again because there were more people coming from the waka. Next, the people from Hawaii sang a song to us. It was a nice song.
Then we stood up to sing Nga Waka e Whitu. Then the student leaders who were standing on the beach placed a necklace on there neck.
After that we all shook hands and gave hi five to the people from Hawaii.
Finally we went back to the bus. I wish we can go again.
