Don't touch lava because it will burn!

Why do volcanoes erupt?
A volcano is a mountain with vents through a molten lava, ash, cinders and gas eruption, sometimes violently.

The volcano is caused by the movement of the plates in the Earth's crust which causes the lava to burst and ash, gases and rocks to come out of the volcano.

Volcanoes erupt when the magma chamber flows up the mountain when the Earth's crust cracks and makes a hole at the top. When the lava bursts out of the volcano it leaves lava and ashes on the mountain.

When the volcano erupts lava flows out of the volcano leaving ashes and rocks to fall. Lava bursts out from the top of the mountain causing a lot of lava to flow out.

Lava can burn buildings, kill people, damage cars and trains. Try to avoid going to areas that has an active volcano.

Learning Intention: We are learning to follow the structure of an explanation writing.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write an introduction, followed by the explanation, then the effect and a concluding sentence about volcanoes.
